Thrilled that my Painting ‘Marginal Shift’ is officially this year’s winner of The Art Prize at The Williamson open 2023.
As such it being purchased by the Gallery for it’s permanent collection and judging by the other exhibitors and past winners is in some very good company.
I am so happy to get the chance to exhibit a selection of my latest work alongside aimee Jones, Peter Moore, charlotte Baxter, Erik peake MBE Gary Griffiths, David Brightmore, and Tara Dean.
My latest series of work is entitled ‘Nowhere’, in the sense of a place that has lost its identity but has not lose it’s sense of place.
It is particularly fitting as I was inspired by the former point of Ayr colliery at nearby Talacre and it also happens to be very close to my art studio.

Clwydian Creatives Art Trail
I am opening my studio for selected dates of 3rd, 11th, 16th and 17th of September from 11am - 5pm, please come along and say hello.
All over the country, artists and craftsmen get together to form “Open Studios” whereby interested people can visit and garner an insight into how works of art are made and the kind of lifestyle being an artist can entail. In North Wales, we were blessed with 4 x 3-day weekends over September run by the Helfa Gelf. Sadly, the pandemic played a major part in its demise. However, you cannot knock the indomitable spirit of creative people. Starting last year as restrictions were slowly easing, Carol Udale and Sharon Wagstaff from Mold, Flintshire teamed up and formed the Clwydian Creatives Art Trail which include professional and amateur artists and craftspeople - all with an incredible standard of work. While keeping within the borders of Flintshire and Denbighshire and keeping to the September 3 day weekends, it is now growing steadily and in its second year with 66 people taking part.
I am happy to be invited to exhibit my work in the first exhibition in this venue, 'Abstraction' which will be from the 8th until the 11th of July 2022.
You will find it at 33 Lower Bridge Street, Chester. It is just off the main street, down the little alleyway between Tudor house and the period property of number 33.
