Plastic Rivers
Lucy Elizabeth Jones at Alison Bradley Gallery, CHESTER
1st November - 10th November 2019
A Solo exhibition featuring a new collection of work by artist Lucy Elizabeth Jones. This body of work is a continuation and a development of a longstanding fascination with the character and flow of paint. The working title, ‘Plastic Rivers’ reflects upon an increasing awareness that although acrylic paint is a man made invention, the laws of physics that are inherent in it are not. An attraction lies in the contradiction of the man made environment and that of the natural world as is subtly referenced within the photographic images contained within the paintings.
More usually found exhibiting in the context of group shows alongside fellow artists in the arts collective CHART, this is a long awaited opportunity for the Artist. Many of the paintings in this exhibition have been made recently during this year’s Helfagelf. This is a collection of artists and studios from across North Wales where Lucy’s studio is based.
